1. Introduction

Septic Tank Reminder ("we", "our", "the app") is an offline home-maintenance app that helps you track septic tank pump-outs, log inspections, and keep maintenance records on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

By using Septic Tank Reminder, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

All of the following is entered by you and stored only on your device. We do not have a server, account system, or cloud database, and we cannot access this information:

• Tank details (name, size in gallons/litres, install date, last-pumped date, household size, usage pattern, custom pump-out interval)
• Pump-out records (date, service company name, cost, notes)
• Receipt photos you optionally attach to a pump-out (Premium feature)
• Inspection records and checklist results
• App preferences (volume unit, theme, reminder settings)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Advertising identifier — collected by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads (see Section 5)
• Approximate (coarse) data — AdMob may infer approximate location from your IP address for ad relevance; the app itself does not request or use any location permission
• App interaction data — AdMob may collect ad interaction events (impressions, clicks)

The app does not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise GPS location, contacts, or health data. The app does not use Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics.

2.3 Information from Third-Party Services

None. The app has no sign-in and does not connect to any social or identity provider.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Estimate your next pump-out date and show OK / due-soon / overdue status
• Store your pump-out and inspection history locally for your reference
• Send local reminder and seasonal-tip notifications on your device
• Generate a PDF history export that you choose to share
• Display advertisements to free-tier users (via Google AdMob)
• Process your one-time Premium purchase (via Google Play Billing)

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

• All your tank, pump-out, and inspection records are stored locally on your device in a private on-device database (Room) and app preferences.
• Receipt photos you attach are copied into the app's private internal storage on your device.
• No data you enter is transmitted to us or to any cloud server. The app has no cloud backup or sync.

4.2 Cloud Storage

• Not applicable. Septic Tank Reminder does not store any of your records in the cloud.

4.3 Security Measures

• Your records remain in the app's private storage, accessible only to the app on your device.
• Network connections made by advertising and billing services use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Because there is no account or server, there are no credentials for us to store or for an attacker to target.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

• Free-tier users see advertisements served by Google AdMob.
• AdMob may use your advertising identifier and ad interaction data to serve and personalize ads.
• We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent for ad data processing where required.
• You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
• Premium users (one-time purchase) see no advertisements.

6. Photos and Images

• Receipt photos are captured or selected only when you explicitly choose to add them to a pump-out record (Premium feature).
• Photos are stored in the app's private internal storage on your device.
• Photos are never uploaded, synced to any cloud, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
• You can delete a photo at any time by deleting the associated record from within the app.
• When you choose to share an exported PDF, it is shared only through the app you select in the system share sheet.

7. Children's Privacy

Septic Tank Reminder is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Access and Control

• You can view, edit, and delete all of your data within the app at any time.
• You can export your tank, pump-out, and inspection history as a PDF for your own records.

8.2 Data Deletion

• You can delete individual tanks, pump-out logs, and inspections from within the app.
• Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data, including attached photos.
• Because we hold no copy of your data on any server, there is no cloud data for us to delete on your behalf.

8.3 Notifications

• You can disable reminders and seasonal tips at any time in the app's Reminders settings or in your device notification settings.

8.4 Ad Preferences

• A one-time Premium purchase removes all advertisements.
• You can opt out of personalized ads via device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
• You can reset your ad consent choices via the app where the UMP consent option is offered.

9. GDPR Compliance (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your data, and to object to processing for marketing. Because all of your records are stored only on your own device, you exercise most of these rights directly within the app (view, edit, delete, export).

The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent for ad data processing and personalized advertising in compliance with GDPR. To exercise any rights regarding advertising data, contact us at muhammadilyas15@gmail.com, or refer to the Google Privacy Policy.

10. Data Retention

We keep your information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy.

• All of your entries stay on your device. We operate no server for this data and never receive a copy of it, so there is nothing for us to retain. Your data is kept until you delete the individual entry, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes all of it from the device.
• Support emails — if you contact us, your message is retained for up to 24 months after your enquiry is resolved, then deleted.
• Purchase records — retained by Google Play for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law. We do not hold separate copies.

11. Data Deletion — How to Delete Your Data

You can delete your data at any time. Delete individual entries Open any entry in the App and tap Delete. It is removed immediately from the device. Uninstall Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device. Request deletion by email If you cannot access the App, or you want written confirmation that your data has been erased, email us at muhammadilyas15@gmail.com with the subject line "Septic Tank Reminder – Data Deletion Request". We will verify the request, delete all associated data, and confirm by email within 30 days. There is no charge for this.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and posting the updated policy at its published URL. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
