Privacy Policy for Postnatal Recovery
Effective Date: June 23, 2026 Developer: Mobilia Apps Contact: muhammadilyas15@gmail.com
1. Introduction
Postnatal Recovery ("we", "our", "the app") is an offline-first postpartum recovery companion that helps new parents log and track their recovery during the first weeks and months after childbirth. The app keeps a personal recovery diary — including an informational lochia (postpartum bleeding) timeline, mood and a postpartum-depression self-screening questionnaire, and feeding, diaper, sleep, pain and medication logs — and sends gentle recovery and medication reminders.
This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information. The short version: your maternal and infant health data is stored only on your own device. We do not have accounts, we do not run a cloud, and we never receive, see, or upload your health data.
By using Postnatal Recovery, you agree to the handling of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide (stored ON YOUR DEVICE ONLY)
All of the following is entered by you and saved in a private database on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party:
- Delivery details — your delivery date and birth type (vaginal or C-section), used to count your day postpartum and to display the informational lochia stage timeline.
- Lochia (postpartum bleeding) entries — flow level, color, clots, pad usage, and related notes.
- Mood entries and your responses to the postpartum-depression (PPD) self-screening questionnaire.
- Baby-care logs — feeding sessions, diaper changes, and sleep entries.
- Pain entries and medication logs (medicine name, dose, time taken).
- Recovery tasks / checklist progress.
- Emergency contacts you choose to save.
- App preferences — theme (light/dark), reminder settings, and onboarding/disclaimer acceptance, stored in local app preferences.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Advertising identifier — collected by Google AdMob to serve advertisements in the free version of the app. This is not health data and is not linked to any of the on-device data listed above.
- Device information in support emails — if you use the in-app Contact Us form, your device model, Android version, and app version are pre-filled into the email body so we can help you. You can edit or remove this before sending. No log or health data is attached.
The app does not include Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics in this version. We do not collect app-usage analytics or automatic crash reports.
2.3 Information from Third-Party Services
None. The app has no sign-in providers, no account system, and no cloud login.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use information solely to make the app work for you:
- Calculate and display your day postpartum and the informational lochia stage timeline (Rubra / Serosa / Alba) based on your delivery date.
- Store and show your recovery, mood, PPD-screening, feeding, diaper, sleep, pain, and medication logs.
- Surface conservative "when to call your provider" red-flag reminders based on the entries you record.
- Generate doctor-share PDF reports from your own logs, on your device, which you may then share through apps you choose (premium feature).
- Send recovery-task and medication reminders via on-device notifications.
- Display advertisements in the free version (Google AdMob).
- Process your optional one-time premium purchase (Google Play Billing).
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage (the only storage)
- All your health and baby-care data is stored locally on your device in a private app database (
postnatal_recovery.db) and in private app preferences. - PDF reports you generate are created in the app's private storage and shared only when you explicitly choose to share them.
- This data is accessible only to the Postnatal Recovery app on your device and is removed when you delete the data in-app or uninstall the app.
4.2 Cloud Storage
There is none. This version of the app has no cloud backup, no account, no sign-in, and no server-side sync. Your maternal and infant health data never leaves your device through this app.
4.3 Security Measures
- The few network connections the app makes (advertising and consent requests, the optional in-app update check, and billing) use encrypted HTTPS/TLS.
- Because your health data stays on-device, it is protected by your device's own security (lock screen, encryption).
- We recommend protecting your device with a screen lock to keep your recovery diary private.
5. Data Sharing
5.1 We Do NOT Sell Your Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal or health information to anyone. We do not have access to it in the first place.
5.2 Third-Party Services
The app includes the following Google services, which may process limited, non-health data as described:
| Service | Purpose | Data Accessed | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Advertising in the free version | Advertising identifier, ad interactions, approximate (IP-based) location | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google UMP (Consent) | Ad-consent management (GDPR) | Consent choices | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google Play Billing | Process one-time premium purchase | Purchase status | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google Play (In-App Update) | Offer app updates | App/version info | Google Privacy Policy |
None of these services receive your lochia, mood, PPD, baby-care, pain, or medication data.
5.3 Ad Personalization
- Free users see advertisements served by Google AdMob, which may use an advertising identifier for ad delivery and personalization.
- You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
- The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent for personalized advertising where required.
- Premium users see no advertisements. Your health logs are never used to target ads.
6. Health Data
6.1 Sensitive Health Information
Postnatal Recovery handles sensitive maternal and infant health information, including postpartum bleeding details, mood and PPD self-screening responses, pain levels, medication logs, and infant feeding/diaper/sleep records.
6.2 Health Data Protection
- This data is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded, synced, or shared with us or any third party.
- Health data is never shared with advertisers or used for advertising.
- There is no cloud copy of your health data.
6.3 Medical Disclaimer — Not a Diagnostic Tool
Postnatal Recovery is a personal recovery log and reminder tool. It is NOT a medical device and does NOT diagnose, treat, monitor, or prevent any condition. Specifically:
- The lochia stage shown (Rubra / Serosa / Alba) is an informational timeline derived from your delivery date compared against published typical recovery ranges. It is not a diagnosis and does not assess your individual healing.
- The postpartum-depression (PPD) self-screening questionnaire is an informational self-check only. It does not diagnose depression or any mental-health condition. The app never tells you that you "have" PPD; results always direct you to consult a professional, and mental-health helplines are shown.
- Any "red-flag" or warning content is framed as "when to call your doctor or emergency services," not as a diagnosis.
Always consult your doctor, midwife, or other qualified healthcare provider for any medical decision or concern. If you think you have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
7. Children's Privacy
Postnatal Recovery is intended for use by adults (new parents and caregivers) and is not directed at children under 13. Any infant-care information is entered by the parent/caregiver. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 Access and Control
- You can view all of your data within the app at any time.
- You can edit or delete any entry you have recorded.
- You can generate a PDF report of your own logs (premium feature).
8.2 Data Deletion
- You can delete individual entries within the app.
- Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data, including all health and baby-care logs. Because there is no cloud copy, this fully deletes your data.
8.3 Notifications
- You can disable reminders at any time in the app's Settings or in your device notification settings.
8.4 Ad Preferences
- Purchasing premium removes all advertisements.
- You can opt out of personalized ads via device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
9. GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, you have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data. Because your health data is stored only on your device and is fully under your control, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app (view, edit, delete) or by uninstalling.
For advertising, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain your consent in compliance with GDPR. For any other request, contact us at muhammadilyas15@gmail.com.
10. Data Retention
We keep your information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy.
- All of your entries stay on your device. We operate no server for this data and never receive a copy of it, so there is nothing for us to retain. Your data is kept until you delete the individual entry, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes all of it from the device.
- Support emails — if you contact us, your message is retained for up to 24 months after your enquiry is resolved, then deleted.
- Purchase records — retained by Google Play for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law. We do not hold separate copies.
11. Data Deletion — How to Delete Your Data
You can delete your data at any time. Delete individual entries Open any entry in the App and tap Delete. It is removed immediately from the device. Uninstall Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device. Request deletion by email If you cannot access the App, or you want written confirmation that your data has been erased, email us at muhammadilyas15@gmail.com with the subject line "Postnatal Recovery – Data Deletion Request". We will verify the request, delete all associated data, and confirm by email within 30 days. There is no charge for this.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" above and posting the revised policy at our hosted privacy URL. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
